Rail operator c2c introduces digital platform

Rail operator c2c Railway Limited has partnered with CPC Project Services to introduce a new state-of-the-art digital platform designed to improve service delivery and provide better information to passengers during periods of disruption.

c2c Railway has implemented the new OP1 digital intelligence platform at its Service Delivery Center in Upminster to support internal teams and provide operational efficiency and critical business insights during periods of delays or service disruption.

The platform was specifically designed in a collaborative project between c2c Railway and technical partner CPC Project Services, OP1, to centralize existing data flows and APIs—from driver and train schedules, real-time service information, train location, and driver working hours—into a single, easily accessible digital interface.

“The introduction of OP1 means that control centers, depots, station staff, and c2c managers will have complete access to and a better understanding of real-time service information than ever before. This will help increase performance while improving passenger services and customer communications.

The platform significantly reduces the time needed to search for and collect real-time information, enabling the team to make faster and more informed decisions to reduce and minimize service disruptions,” said Gail Moore, Head of Service Delivery at c2c.

Leveraging the power of technological innovation, OP1 provides an advanced platform that uses artificial intelligence and transforms fragmented data into actionable insights, enabling the service delivery team to quickly identify issues and respond promptly.

“As a technology partner, OP1 enables us to support rail customers in new and innovative ways, leveraging the power of data to improve performance. c2c is the first national adopter of the revolutionary data-driven OP1 platform, and it’s great to see our successful collaboration implemented at the c2c Service Delivery Centre,” said Steve Mole, Managing Partner, CPC Project Services.

c2c, which has worked in partnership with CPC over the past year to develop the platform, is the first National Rail Operator to adopt OP1.

The c2c Railway operator provides services between Fenchurch Street and Shoeburyness, serving 26 stations in East London and South Essex, carrying nearly 37.3 million passengers per year on this route. The punctuality of its services makes it one of the most highly rated rail operators in the UK. From July 20, 2025, all c2c services have been transferred to public ownership and are managed by DFTO (DfT Operator Ltd) to ensure continuity of service and high standards for passengers.
