Qbuzz wins rail and bus concession in the Netherlands

Qbuzz, a subsidiary of FS Italiane Group, won the tender for the concession of bus and railway transport services in the Netherlands.
The concession, which is worth around EUR 48 million euro for a duration of 8 years, includes the regional railway line between Geldermalsen and Dordrecht (known as MerwedeLingelijn) and bus services in the area.
Within the concession, Qbuzz will invest around EUR 45 million in electrical buses as well as train fleet upgrade. These investments will speed up and improve comfort and sustainability of the connections from Dordrecht, Papendrecht, Sliedrecht, the main DAV cities, to Rotterdam and the rural areas.
In the the Netherlands, Qbuzz is the third public transport operator and manages public transport in Utrecht and Groningen-Drenthe areas. In 2017, the company recorded revenues of EUR 200 million and transported 90 million passengers.
