The Portalp Group, a specialist in automatic doors and entrance systems, has established Portalp Railway, a company dedicated to its railway business – including platform screen doors, guided transport systems, railway access control, and metalwork.
This new company, headquartered in Saint-Égrève (Isère, France), is the result of an internal reorganisation aimed at optimising the Group’s services and strengthening its development around specialised areas of expertise.
Portalp Railway now encompasses all activities related to the railway sector, including the design, installation, and maintenance of platform screen doors, guided transport systems, and railway access control and metalwork.
Production activities will remain under Portalp France for strategic reasons and to enable resource sharing across the Group.
All employees currently working in the Transport division have been transferred to Portalp Railway, ensuring seamless operational continuity. With their expertise and know-how, they will continue to support clients with the same level of quality and commitment.

The company offers a range of platform screen doors, including systems for people movers, and also designs and installs various types of metalwork equipment. In addition, the company provides installation and maintenance services.
Its solutions share two key objectives in line with railway standards: enhancing the safety of public transport networks and ensuring their continuous operation, while improving overall consistency.
Portalp Railway is the only platform screen door manufacturer to carry the Guaranteed Made in France label – a certification that underscores its commitment to high-quality, locally based manufacturing.
