PKP begins its important project in southeastern Poland

Polish rail infrastructure manager, PKP PLK, launched the modernisation works on Rzeszów Główny station, company’s most important rail project in Podkarpackie Voivodeship (Subcarpathian province).
Valuated at EUR 47.78 million (PLN 205 million), the project envisages the reconstruction of the tracks and turnouts, the construction of overpasses and of an additional stop at Rzeszów West, as well as the establishment of road communication, by reconstructing the infrastructure.
In addition, at Rzeszów Główny station there will be three new, higher platforms, adapted to the needs of people with reduced mobility. Access to the platforms will be facilitated by new elevators and escalators and a new underground passage will be created.
The project is implemented as part of the National Railway Programme.
Rzeszów Główny is the most important station of the southeastern Polish city of Rzeszow, and the biggest of the Subcarpathian Voivodeship. The station offers connections to all major cities of Poland, also to Kiev and Lviv.
