Philippines: authorities to launch tenders for two major rail projects next year

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAPPP Center (Philippines) announced that in 2016 will be launched two major rail projects: the P176.7 billion (USD 4 billion) North-South Commuter Railway (NSRP) and the P135-billion (USD 3 billion) Mass Transit System Loop (MTSL).
The  planned  Mass  Transit  System  Loop  project  will  connect  the  fast developing central  business  districts  (CBDs)  of  Metro  Manila,  namely  Bonifacio  Global  City,  Makati  Central  Business  District,  and  the  Mall  of  Asia  area  in  Pasay City.
The proposed NSRP South Line PPP covers Metro Manila to Legazpi City, Albay, plus a number of existing and proposed branch lines totaling to approximately 653 km. It consists of commuter railway operations between Tutuban and Calamba and long haul railway operations between Tutuban and Legazpi, including extended long haul rail operations on the branch line between Calamba and Batangas and extension between Legazpi and Matnog.
