The new tram of the public transportation company HTM is being tested out in The Hague this week. The new black and red vehicles will start operating their routes as of 2015. The Avenio is being tested out on the route between the Zichtenburg depot and De Uithof as well as Kraayenstein. The new city trams are being produced by Siemens in a factory in Vienna. The first prototype was delivered to The Hague this past summer and showed to the public. A second prototype arrived recently. The new vehicles are 35 metres long and have 70 seats and 168 standing places.
