Melbourne Metro tunnel signalling EOI launched

melbourneVictorian Prime Minister Daniel Andrews has announced the Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the Melbourne Metro Tunnel Project Rail Systems Alliance. The Alliance will design, develop and deliver up to AUD 1 billion (USD 734 million) worth of signalling, communications and other related systems on the Metro Tunnel . The works will install high-capacity signalling on the Sunbury-Cranbourne/Pakenham line and new cross-city tunnel.
Expressions of Interest in the Rail Systems Alliance, which are expected from all over the world, close on 23 June.
Passenger safety will be improved with international-style platform screen doors built in the Metro Tunnel’s five new underground stations, enabled by the new signalling and dedicated fleet of next generation trains.
We remind that the authorities launched the Expressions of Interest to deliver the 9 km Melbourne’s new Metro Tunnel. The EOI process for the Tunnel and Stations PPP closes at on 9 June.
