Linfox starts train services with its new Queensland Intermodal operator

Linfox announced the successful commencement of the former Aurizon Queensland Intermodal business (QIB), offering a new and compelling logistics option for businesses operating in Far North Queensland.
The first Linfox-managed train departed Brisbane for Mackay, loaded with consumer goods, industrial products and produce. Linfox’s integrated road, rail and sea services will provide a safe and efficient delivery of goods to market into and out of North Queensland.
Linfox’s expansion of its intermodal operation in Queensland follows the successful acquisition of Aurizon’s QIB, incorporating the transfer almost 200 employees, freight forwarding, pick-up and delivery assets as well as rail wagons to Linfox.
As part of the successful acquisition of the former Aurizon QIB, Linfox now has access to 12 freight depots in Queensland including access to the Acacia Ridge Terminal, trucks, trailers and rail wagons for intermodal containers and heavy lift assets and all existing QIB customer contracts.
