LDz Cargo sees reduction in transport levels

ldz_cargoLDz Cargo, the largest railroad transport company in Latvia and a subsidiary of Latvijas dzelzcels, transported 10.6 million tons of cargo in the first two months of the year, 5.2% less than in January-February 2014. In February, the reduction in cargo turnover was even bigger, of 7.2%, reaching 5.1 million tons.
Domestic cargo stood at 184,000 tons (-1.1%) in the first two months of the year, import cargo reached 9.4 million tons (-4.2%) and export cargo volumes reached 478,000 tons (-39.7%). Transit cargo stood at 526,000 tons (+38.8%).
