RB Rail announced the tender for design and design supervision services for the construction of the Vangaži–Salaspils–Misahe new line, as part of Rail Baltica. This is the next restricted competition, which defines the advancement of the Rail Baltica project design phase in Latvia.
For the tender which envisages the construction of a 60-km new line, the submission deadline for the proposal is June 18, 2018. The project on the construction of Vangaži–Salaspils–Misa line also envisages the construction of 10 bridges, including a bridge over Daugava river with projected length 1.6 km, 14 road viaducts, 15 railway viaducts, 4 eco-ducts, 45 culverts and 12 main gas-pipeline crossings.
The tender is subject to the development of Vangaži–Salaspils–Misa section design and provision of design supervision services for the construction of railway track substructure, superstructure, as well as related civil structures on the new standard gauge passenger/freight high-speed double track, electrified railway Rail Baltica line.
As Rail Baltica’s previous detailed technical design competitions, this also consists of two stages. The first one regards to selection of candidates who will be invited to submit a proposal in the second stage of the competition and the second one involves the evaluation of the proposals submitted by candidates which were invited to submit a proposal and award of rights to conclude a contract. The candidates qualified in the first stage of the competition will receive detailed information on the scope of the services to be procured.
