Kyrgyzstan plans railway connection with China

KyrgKyrgyzstanyz president Almazbek Atambayev held a meeting on the construction of a Kyrgyz-China railway project, writes Kyrgyz National News Agency.
According to the presidential press office, Atambayev discussed with Kalykbek Sultanov, minister of the Kyrgyz Transport and Communications, and Argynbek Malabaev, general manager of the Kyrgyz National Railway Company, all possible options for the Kyrgyz-China railway project.
At the meeting, Atambayev stressed the importance of the railway project, saying it would benefit both countries.
Kyrgyzstan and China have been discussing for many years the possibility of constructing a China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway. The Kyrgyz-China railway in discussion is a new project linking Kyrgyzstan with China.
