Konkan Railway to build network for Jaigarh Port’s rail connectivity

04-Konkan indiaJSW Jaigarh Port Ltd, an arm of JSW Infrastructure Ltd, signed a concession agreement with state-run Konkan Railway Corp. Ltd to develop a 33.7-km stretch of the new railway corridor connecting the port to the new Digni station on Konkan Rail network.
The Rs.771-crore (108 million euros) project will help the port company haul bulk commodities from Jaigarh port to Konkan Railway and further to the hinterland.
The project will be developed unde a public private partnership model, following a competitive bidding process, by the joint venture Jaigarh Digni Rail Ltd. The joint venture includes JSW Jaigarh Port, Konkan Railway Corp. and Maharashtra Maritime Board.
The project is funded through a combination of equity and debt and the concession agreement between Jaigarh Digni Rail an the Railways Ministry through Konkan Rail will be valid for 30 years.
