locomotive maintenanceRailpool and Koncar – Electric Vehicles signed a locomotive maintenance agreement of Traxx fleet. The services will be performed in Zagreb, Croatia, for company’s leasing customers in the region for swift support in their very proximity.

“Through our ongoing growth phase we stand firm behind our commitment to highest vehicle availability and minimum downtimes. With Koncar we have chosen an experienced and strong partner for preventive and corrective maintenance in the Balkan region adding value to our customers by providing a local service hub when needed,” Torsten Lehnert, the CEO of Railpool said.

Railpool owns a Bombardier locomotive fleet comprising Traxx F140 MS, Traxx F140 AC, Traxx AC 3 Last Mile and Traxx DC locomotives. The Traxx locomotive is available as a four-axle, single, dual or multi-system locomotive for freight trains in national and international services in Europe. The modular structure permits reconfiguration with additional country equipment and flexible vehicle upgrading.

“Koncar has more than 50 years of experience in the development, production, maintenance and refurbishing of vehicles with the required quality standards for Railpool’s state-of-the-art locomotives. Our goal is to expand operations to wider geographic and market niches and develop long-term partnerships” President of the Managing Board of Koncar Electric Vehicles said.

They are able to run at a maximum speed of 140 km/h for freight transport, and 160 km/h for passenger services.

In December 2020, Railpool received its 200th Traxx locomotive from Bombardier. In 2019, the rail vehicle leasing company has secured EUR 800 million funding to acquire 20 Traxx electric locomotives and 10 Siemens Vectron locomotives.
