Karlsruhe-tramtrain_vbk-vossloh-net2012-333-karlsruhe-867784Under the terms of a second contract option the Albtal-Verkehrs-Gesellschaft (AVG) has ordered a further 25 “Citylink NET 2012” tram-trains from the consortium made up of Vossloh Kiepe and Stadler Rail Valencia. The contract to supply an initial 25 new low-floor vehicles was signed in October 2011. The first option for a further 25 vehicles was taken up in the spring of 2015. This second option take-up brings the size of the contract to a total of 75 vehicles.
The NET 2012 is a low-floor vehicle that will be put to use on the S1/S11 city-center and regional lines operated by the AVG light rail transit system between Hochstetten and Bad Herrenalb / Ittersbach. The vehicle will connect the areas around Karlsruhe with the city center; its accessibility will make a huge contribution to mobility in the region.
