India: Indore railway station goes green

03_indoreThe Indore railway station (Madhya Pradesh) has inaugurated a new solar power plant with a capacity of 20-kw, The Hindu Business Line reports. The project was carried out together with the Indian Container Corporation Limited.
With the help of the Indian Container Corporation, a total of 100 kw solar power plants were established in Chiitorgarh, Neemuch, Ratlam and Indore which resulted in saving Rs. 1.2 million (16,830 euros) per year on energy charges, Western Railway’s Ratlam Division’s spokesperson Jitendra Kumar Jayant said.
