Increased ridership on NY Flushing Line

New York Flushing metro Line (Line 7) recorded a ridership of 400,000 daily passengers, since May, when ATO system entered operation.
Thales SelTrac CBTC signalling system was installed which improved on-time performance by over 16 percentage points to 91%, up from 74.7% which was the on-time performance the month before the CBTC system was fully deployed. A year ago, on-time performance was just 55.5%.
Thales completed final stage signal migration within six months.
Since CBTC was installed in December 2018, service has improved steadily each month. Major incidents, or those that delay 50 or more trains, have also decreased drastically. There were an average 8 monthly major incidents between January and November 2018. December 2018 to March 2019 there was a monthly average of 2.75.
This is New York’s second ATO line in the system, after the L line, between Eighth Avenue and Rockaway Parkway.
