Increase in frequency for Kehl-Rotterdam rail shuttle

The rail service frequency which links Rotterdam with Kehl (Strasbourg) in Germany has been recently expanded from two to three trips per week. The shuttle service is the result of a collaboration between Haeger & Schmidt Logistics, Danser Group and Ultrabrag in Basel.
“The train departs from Rotterdam eastwards on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays and reaches its destination in fourteen hours. We have a 92-TEU capacity per departure and visit all large terminals on Maasvlakte”, said Ed van de Velde, Director of Haeger & Schmidt Logistics.
“Cargo supply has recently increased significantly. The service increase was partly at the request of paper factory, Köhler, one of the big clients. We don’t only serve Kehl and the Black Forest area but also the French side: Strasbourg and Alsace. The cargo we transport is also extremely diverse, varying from wine, beer and cosmetics to wood and paper. We also use Kehl as a hub, as it offers our inland vessels a direct connection to the Basel region,” explained Michel Bot, Sales & Marketing Manager at Danser Group.
