GYSEV signs contract for Vectron locomotives

Hungarian railway operator GYSEV and Siemens signed a contract for the supply of 5 Vectron electric locomotives, with an option for 4 additional vehicles.
Under the contract, Siemens will deliver the first batch of 3 Vectron MS locomotives and 2 dual-voltage units, all equipped with ETCS Level 2.
This year GYSEV will receive all the locomotives.
For the project, in July 2016, GYSEV received a EUR 40 million loan from the European Investment Bank.
The new locomotives will be put into operation on Sopron-Budapest and Szombathely-Budapest rail routes.
