Greater Anglia is seeking to recruit trainee train drivers across its network.
The operator is hiring for both depot driver and mainline driver roles. Depot drivers are responsible for moving empty trains at low speeds within depots, sidings and platforms. Positions are currently available in Clacton, Colchester, Ilford, Norwich, and Southend Victoria.
Mainline driver roles – which involve operating passenger services – are open at London Liverpool Street (for both West Anglia and Great Eastern Mainline services), Bishop’s Stortford, Cambridge, Clacton, Colchester, Ilford, Ipswich, Norwich, and Southend Victoria.
All roles are classed as safety-critical and require strong organisational skills, effective communication, high levels of concentration, and the ability to work independently. Applicants must be prepared for shift work, including weekends, bank holidays, and nights, on a rotating schedule.
Greater Anglia will provide successful candidates with comprehensive training, combining classroom learning, simulator sessions, and supervised practical instruction from qualified driver instructors.
