GautrainAccording to an assessment of the economic impact, the Gautrain project contributed  around R20 billion (USD 1.6 million) to the provincial gross domestic product (GDP) over the six years it took to build the rapid-rail link.
The results have shown that the Gautrain has created 34,800 direct job opportunities during construction and 922 sustainable jobs after the start of operations.
