The Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane (FS) group presented the International School Programme in Brussels, a high-level training program dedicated to young European professionals in the field of sustainable transport and mobility.
The initiative was hosted at the European Parliament and is designed as a strategic investment in skills, leadership, and innovation for the new generation of leaders in the sector.
The event was attended by European Parliament Vice-Presidents Antonella Sberna and Pina Picierno, alongside FS CEO Stefano Antonio Donnarumma, Head of Human Resources and Transformation Gian Luca Orefice, FS International CEO Luigi Corradi, and several Italian MEPs.
“Through the International School Programme, we are investing in the skills and talent of the new generations, which are essential for the transformation of the transport and mobility sector in Europe,” said Stefano Antonio Donnarumma.
Investing in European mobility leaders
“In a context of profound industrial change, investing in advanced training and leadership makes a concrete contribution to building a shared vision of the future of mobility. This international program, developed in collaboration with European academic institutions and FS Group companies, encourages the exchange of experience and strengthens participants’ leadership capabilities,” he added.
The program took place in two phases: the first in Madrid, at IE Business School, and the second in the Netherlands, at Nyenrode Business Universiteit, involving participants from several FS Group companies across Europe, including iryo, Hellenic Train, Netinera, and Trenitalia France.
The meeting in Brussels marked the conclusion of the program and highlighted the initiative’s role in the European strategy for skills development, innovation, and sustainable mobility, reinforcing FS’s commitment to training a new generation of leaders in European rail transport.
The program also contributes to strengthening cooperation among the FS Group’s international subsidiaries and to creating a common learning framework at the European level. Participants had the opportunity to interact directly with European institutions and transport operators, strengthening the link between academia and industry. In this way, the initiative becomes a strategic tool for human resource development in the European rail sector.
