France: SNCF introduces the Regio2N units

The new Regio2N units to run on the regional express transport network were presented on 19 November in Lyon Perrache rail station in the presence of local authorities. The Regio2B units, manufactured by Bombardier, were put into service on 20 November, on the Villefranche-sur-Saône – Vienne route. Overall, 40 such units will be put into operation , first of all on the Villefranche – Lyon – Vienne axis and then, starting wit 2015, on the  Ambérieu – Lyon – Saint-Etienne axis. The acquisition of trains has been fully integrated by the Regional Council Rhône Alpes by EUR 400 Million.
