EUR 7.5 billion requested under the 2016 CEF Transport Calls

The Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA) has received 349 project proposals by the 7 February 2017 deadline for the 2016 CEF Transport Calls, requesting nearly EUR 7.5 billion in total EU funding. The total available budget for the call is EUR 1.94 billion, and the financing requested represents an overall oversubscription rate of 3.86 times the budget available.
Evaluation of the project proposals with the help of external experts will start in March.
5 proposals were submitted under the CEF-Transport-2016 – Annual Work Programme – Cohesion envelope; 56 proposals under CEF-Transport-2016 – Annual Work Programme – General envelope; 99 proposals under CEF-Transport-2016 – Multi-Annual Work Programme – Cohesion envelope; and 189 under CEF-Transport-2016 – Multi-Annual Work Programme – General envelope
Admissibility and eligibility of the proposals will now be checked and the proposals will then be evaluated against the specific award criteria of the calls. The evaluation process, which will involve external experts, is expected to be concluded by June, when the final results are likely to be announced.
