EP Cargo buys Traxx locomotives

Czech rail freight operator EP Cargo and Bombardier signed a contract for the delivery of two Traxx AC3 locomotives which will be used for transport services in Germany.
“This contract is a first step in EP Cargo’s investment program which includes the expansion of our locomotive fleet. For the first time EP Cargo purchases brand new AC locomotives, which will be operating in Germany. We plan to put two new Traxx locomotives into service for the transport of Gypsum from our power plant LEAG to Stralsund.” Rudiger Lorentz, Managing Director EP Cargo DE said.
As part of EPH Group, EP Cargo transports by rail more than 3.5 million tonnes of coal and other material. The operator cooperates with the major carriers, including ČD Cargo, AWT, DB, ITL, PKP Cargo, RBB, and others.
