ENNA Logic, a Croatian logistics and rail transport company and part of the ENNA Group, has ordered five Vectron multi-system locomotives from Siemens Mobility under a contract that also includes a comprehensive maintenance agreement valid for up to 30 years.
The first deliveries are scheduled for spring 2027, and maintenance services will begin that same year.
The locomotives will be certified for operation in 11 European countries: Croatia, Hungary, Slovenia, Serbia, Germany, Austria, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, and Bulgaria, making them suitable for international rail freight transport on major European logistics corridors.
Production will take place at the Siemens Mobility plant in Munich, where one of Europe’s most successful locomotive families is manufactured, renowned for its high reliability, operational flexibility, and long-term efficiency.
“The Vectron modular platform, with support for three voltage levels, enables efficient cross-border transport without the need to change locomotives at the border. This significantly reduces operational times and increases the efficiency of logistics processes. In addition, the integrated long-term service model provides predictability in maintenance costs and a high level of technical reliability throughout the entire life cycle,” said Krešimir Nevistić, head of Siemens Mobility Croatia.
Strengthening Rail Freight Transport
The new Vectron locomotives will help increase ENNA Logic’s operational capacity on European rail corridors and reduce reliance on road transport for long-distance freight flows. At the same time, the investment supports the decarbonization goals of the logistics sector by shifting larger volumes of freight to rail.
