EBRD loan for Kiev Metro

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will provide EUR 50 million to Kyiv metro company for the procurement of 50 metro cars for the new metro line.
Currently, the Ukrainian company Kiyvmetrobud is carrying out the construction works for the 3.7-km extension of Line 3 to Vinogradar, a residential area in Podil district. EUR 206.7 million is the value of the project. By 2021, the two new stations towards Vynohradar – Mostytska and Prospekt Pravdy will be opened. The new section is expected to carry 34,000 passengers per hour.
The city plans the construction of the fourth metro line which will have 20 km and 13 stations, linking Kyiv residential district of Troyeschyna with the central business district.
At the end of 2017, a Chinese consortium comprising China Pacific Construction Group and China Railway International Group signed a cooperation agreement with Kyiv authorities for the new metro line. USD 2 billion is the total value of project, of which Kyiv administration will provide 15 percent of the cost.
