DMZ tests new AC EMU EP3D

05-DMZEP3D, a brand new AC EMU produced by Demikhovsky Machine Building Factory (DMZ), part of Transmashholding, is being tested at the VNIIZHT testing facility in Scherbinka, Moscow Region.
The EMU combines modern design, a high level of capability, economic efficiency and accident-free operations, as well as compliance with the most strict safety requirements.  4-, 6- and 8-car train configurations are possible. This solution will ensure that EP3D can be operated on both intensive and small traffic lines.
The train is equipped with a crash system and HVAC. The energy saving equipment provides for up to 20% energy saving. The powerful auxiliary converter allows for considerable decrease of noise and vibration levels.
The train can operate at -50 to +50 degrees C. It is adapted for both low and high platform lines. The EMU is fitted with all the required equipment for passengers with disabilities.
