Deutsche Bahn looses over EUR 100 Million because of strikes

The GDL’s most recent labour action will cost Deutsche Bahn over EUR 100 Million. “The damage so far adds up to more than EUR 100 Million will have an equivalent impact on our annual accounts,” Deutsche Bahn chief Rüdiger Grube declared. “Not to mention the damage to our image and the loss of trust.”
The 20,000-member union has sought a 5% pay increase and a shorter workweek from Deutsche Bahn.
Deutsche Bahn transports 5.5 million passengers each day on commuter trains and high-speed lines that crisscross the country, as well as about one-fifth of German freight.
