CRRC completes driverless metro train tests

The new generation Type B metro developed by CRRC has successfully passed driverless tests, with a parking precision of up to 2cm, the Chinese manufacturer announced.

The driverless metro train is able to run at speeds of 120 km/h, which is 50% higher than the conventional metro train.

The new train is lighter, fitted with modern technology which allows lower energy consumption. According to CRRC, each train can annually save 4000kwh.

CRRC has developed the new vehicle under the “intelligent manufacturing, intelligent transport, smart city” concept.
