Condor and Deutsche Bahn (DB) have strengthened their collaboration to offer enhanced travel options to Frankfurt Airport, Germany’s largest aviation hub. Under the expanded partnership, passengers can now book customised train connections alongside their Condor long-haul flights, with services available from 21 railway stations across Germany.
Peter Gerber, CEO of Condor, emphasised the significance of this development, stating: “Expanding our collaboration with Deutsche Bahn was a logical and important step for us to offer our guests even more options for arriving and departing on long-haul flights from Frankfurt. Although our city flights already connect a few hubs in Germany and Europe with Frankfurt, the limited availability of slots means that travelling with Condor to our intercontinental flights is only possible to a limited extent. We are therefore pleased to be able to expand our offering together with Deutsche Bahn.”
Stefanie Berk, DB Long-Distance’s Board Member for Marketing & Sales, highlighted the environmental and practical benefits of the partnership: “Travelling to the airport by climate-friendly train is an important contribution to sustainable mobility. On DB Long-Distance, everyone travels using 100 percent green electricity. And we know from past experience: Wherever aviation and rail cooperate, we record double-digit growth rates on rail. We are networking our offerings to optimally leverage the respective strengths of our modes of transport. For our customers, this means easy booking and convenient travel chains.”
Through the new codeshare agreement, passengers will enjoy a seamless booking process for both train and flight, free seat reservations on selected trains, optimised transfer times, and access to DB Lounges for Condor Business Class customers. Additionally, in the event of train delays, free rebooking services will be available.
The integrated service covers key railway stations, including Aachen, Basel (Badischer Bahnhof), Berlin, Bremen, Dresden, Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Freiburg, Hamburg, Hanover, Karlsruhe, Cologne, Leipzig, Mannheim, Munich, Münster, Nuremberg, Rostock, Siegburg/Bonn, Stuttgart, and Wolfsburg. Travellers flying to Dubai from Berlin can also connect via Dresden Central Station to Berlin Brandenburg Airport.
