CLIP Intermodal has announced an expansion of its cooperation with Amazon, adding new intermodal services between its terminal in Swarzędz, Poland, and Setemar Can Tunis terminal in Barcelona, Spain.

The enhanced service will now operate four times per week in both directions, with departures on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The move responds to Amazon’s growing logistics needs in Europe while promoting greener transport solutions.
Supporting decarbonisation
Rail-based intermodal services significantly reduce emissions compared with road haulage. On the Swarzędz–Barcelona route, CO₂ emissions can be cut by up to 90%.
The partnership also marks a milestone for Amazon, as the trailers transported on this route are the company’s first intermodal trailers used in Europe. This development highlights Amazon’s commitment to decarbonising its supply chain and adopting more sustainable logistics models.
Growing demand for green logistics
The expanded cooperation with Amazon comes as CLIP Intermodal increases its overall number of intermodal connections between Poland and Spain. The additional capacity supports rising market demand and helps accelerate the shift towards low-emission freight transport across Europe.
Marcin Uczciwek, Commercial Department Director at CLIP Intermodal, said:
“Expanding our partnership with Amazon is an important moment for us. It demonstrates that intermodality not only pays off but also genuinely supports our partners’ climate goals. We’re thrilled to be building more responsible logistics together.”
CLIP Intermodal continues to invest in infrastructure and technologies that underpin the green transformation of the logistics sector. The company sees intermodality as central to the development of modern, responsible supply chains that meet both customer expectations and climate targets.
