China and Russia sign agreement on high speed rail freight services

The chairman of Russian Railways, Oleg Belozerov, and the general director of China Railway Corp signed on June 8 a Memorandum of Understanding on the organization of high-speed rail freight transport on China-Russia-Europe axis.
The ceremony took place in a Beijing – Tianjin high speed train, where the president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, and President of China, Xi Jinping, attended.
Under the agreement, the two countries will jointly develop rail freight transport and logistics services, including express-delivery services between China, Russia and Europe.
Russian Railways and China Railway Corp will carry out rail freight market analysis for cross-border electronic commerce and express delivery services, including forecast for transport volumes and new products.
China Railway Express, RZD-Logistics and Federal Passenger Company will operate the transport services.
