Ceva Logistics opens a new facility

Ceva Logistics inaugurated its new, integrated, end-to-end cold chain facility at DP World London Gateway. The Chill Hub is an energy-efficient building, with “excellent road and rail connections, providing a faster delivery of goods,” Nicolas Sartini, the CEO of CEVA Logistics said at the opening ceremony.
Within the multi-temperature 10,000 sqm facility are up to 10,000 pallet positions featuring seven independent chambers capable to operating at all temperature ranges from -25°C through to +16°C. Fitted with the needed equipment, the new facility can accommodate chilled, frozen and temperature specific items.
The dedicated areas will handle pharmaceuticals, fresh and frozen products, beverages and flowers as well as other goods requiring specific handling and storage temperature.
The new Chill Hub has the additional benefit of a deep-sea port on the same site as the logistics park where the hub is located. London Gateway has links to over 110 ports in 60 different countries and its dockside proximity to the warehouse means shunting can take as little as two hours.
