České dráhy (ČD) has taken delivery of this year’s last RegioFox DMU from the Polish manufacturer Pesa Bydgoszcz. The unit will be deployed on regional lines in the Hradec Králové Region, marking the successful completion of this year’s delivery of a total of ten of these modern trains.

Together with the delivery of 33 additional RegioFox trains scheduled to be completed by the end of 2026, the fleet renewal programme will see a total of 40 modern regional trains in service.
České dráhy will complete the full modernisation of the regional train fleet in the region next year, when the final seven RegioFox DMUs will roll off the production line. The newly delivered units will be accommodated and serviced at the ČD depots in Trutnov and Hradec Králové.
“RegioFox DMUs represent a generational leap in the quality, comfort and reliability of trains on non-electrified regional lines. Twenty-six RegioFox units provide almost 3,000 seats in barrier-free, air-conditioned trains,” said Michal Krapinec, CEO of České dráhy.
ČD plans to operate the RegioFox DMU fleet on express and passenger services along the V2 Hradec Králové – Doudleby nad Orlicí – Letohrad line. These trains will offer a direct connection between the regional capital and Rychnov nad Kněžnou and Solnice without the need to change at Častolovice. A two-unit formation will be used on the Hradec Králové – Častolovice section, similar to the express services to Trutnov and Svoboda nad Úpou, or Náchod and Broumov.
Once the full delivery of the new units is complete next year, the RegioFox DMUs will ensure comfortable travel on the following routes:
- Kolín – Chlumec nad Cidlinou – Stará Paka – Trutnov;
- Hradec Králové – Letohrad / Rychnov nad Kněžnou – Solnice;
- Choceň – Týniště nad Orlicí – Náchod – Hronov;
- Hradec Králové – Meziměstí – Broumov; and
- Hradec Králové – Trutnov – Svoboda nad Úpou.
The arrival of the last RegioFox DMU for this year represents a milestone in completing the full delivery, which forms part of a record train replacement programme in the history of the Hradec Králové Region.
Czech Railways has ordered a total of 106 RegioFox DMUs from Pesa, of which 69 are already in service across the Hradec Králové, South Bohemian, Plzeň, Pardubice and Central Bohemian regions, as well as in Prague and the Vysočina Region. This year, in addition to the Hradec Králové Region, the RegioFox fleet will expand in Prague and the Central Bohemian Region, with eight more units entering service.
