CCCC to start Malaysia rail link project soon

China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) announced that the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning contract of the East Coast Rail Link Project inked with Malaysia Rail Link SDN BHD has been duly performed.
Currently, the project financing has been implemented and some of the funds are in place. The contract has been duly performed and the project will be started soon.
On 1 November 2016, CCCC entered into the contract with Malaysia Rail Link SDN BHD, with a contract value of about MYR 46 billion (EUR 9.6 billion). The project is for the design and construction of a railway line with a length of 538 km traversing peninsular Malaysia with 23 stations. In addition, the project includes the construction of 66 km of branch lines and links to the existing network. The duration of the contract is 7 years and the commercial operation is scheduled for 2024.
