CAF wins a new contract in Mexico

A consortium led by CAF won the intercity railroad project which will link Mexico City with Toluca. The consortium lead by CAF is a partnership with companies Isolux-Corsán, AZVI and Thales.
The contract is to be signed in December and amounts to circa EUR 690M, of which approximately 49% of this amount pertains to the CAF Group.
CAF’s will supply the rolling stock with 30 EMUs of 5 cars each. With an approximate capacity for 700 passengers, including seating areas for Persons with Reduced Mobility, the Units will feature unobstructed interiors and gangways between cars, based on a mass transit design which ensures the highest quality and safety standards.
In addition, CAF Signalling will supply the signalling and ATO systems, the control centre and the onboard ERTMS equipment.
