Bulgaria launches EUR 2.5 million tender for rail line modernisation study

Bulgarian state-owned National Railway Infrastructure Company (NRIC) opened a 4.95 million levs (EUR 2.5 million euro) tender for preparing the technical  design for the modernisation of a railway section in the south of the country, the public procurement agency announced.

The section between the towns of Orizovo and Mihaylovo is part of the railway linking Bulgaria’s second-biggest city, Plovdiv with the Black Sea port of Burgas.

The tender will be partially financed by EU funds under Operational Programme Transport and Transport Infrastructure 2014-2020. The technical project should be prepared in 18 months. The deadline for submitting bids expires on April 28.
