BLS and DB Schweiz Holding, part of DB Schenker Rail, have agreed by consensus that the BLS will buy back the shares of BLS Cargo, owned by DB Schweiz Holding. The purchase price was not disclosed. The transaction has no effect on the existing operational relationships with DB Schenker Rail. DB Schenker Rail remains an important business partner of BLS Cargo.
The purchase means BLS now holds 97% of the shares in BLS Cargo, with the remaining 3% being owned by Italian intermodal operator Ambrogio.
