Belarus to launch a new container transport service

Belintertrans Transport-Logistics Centre (BTLC) is offering a regular container train service between Belarus and Romania, with Rail Cargo Logistics, Slovenia and Zakhid Trans Service transport company, Ukraine, as partners.
Igor Shylov, First Deputy Head of the Belarusian Railway, representatives of BTLC administration, project representatives from Slovenia and Ukraine took part in official ceremony.
The new container train carrying wood products departed from Hancavičy railway station on March 5th, consisting of 124 containers on 31 special cars. Such transport requires the use of open top containers with increased capacity.
One of the main advantages of this new project is the speed of delivery, estimated at 39 hours. The expected volume of transport is 120,000 tonnes of freight in 2019.
In 2019, Belarusian Railways plan to launch new export train projects. In cooperation with Russian and Azerbaijan rail operators, Belarusian Railways are working on a new container transport project between Minsk and Baku. This project will allow deliver Belarusian products to Azerbaijan in 7 days and at competitive rates.
