Beijing-Seoul high-speed rail line could open by 2030

A high-speed rail line between beijingBeijing and Seoul could become a reality by 2030, according to the Korean newspaper Daily Economic Report. The project for the line, dubbed the “Beijing-Seoul Daily Life Cycle”, consists of two stages. In the first phase, a high-speed rail connection based on the existing railway infrastructure from Busan to Seoul would be built. In the second stage, the Korean railway would be connected with China’s existing high-speed network to Beijing.
According to the newspaper, the high-speed railway line would be funded by South Korean companies. The line from Busan to Beijing could be completed by 2030 if construction begins soon. Upon completion, the 1,700 km journey from Beijing to Seoul would take six hours.
