AŽD Praha wins signaling contract in Poland

Polish railway infrastructure manager, PKP PLK, awarded AŽD Praha a EUR 46.85 million (CZK 1,2 billion) contract to modernize the signaling and communication equipment on the Słonice – Szczecin Dąbie line, part of E59 Poznan – Szczecin mainline.
Under the contract, AŽD Praha will install modern signaling technologies at 6 stations and will equip the 62-km line with signaling systems. AŽD Praha is the main supplier of the new systems and local companies will ensure certain sub-deliveries in the field of telecommunication, construction works and energy systems. AŽD Praha, as the main contractor of the project, will ensure the design, production, delivery, installation, testing, and commissioning of the fully electronic station interlocking ESA 44-PLT and will coordinate all other work and supplies from local subcontractors.
For AŽD Praha this is the second major contract with PKP PLK on the basis of a successful tendering procedure.
The project, that is co-financed through the Connecting Europe Facility, will be completed by the end of 2020.
