Arriva has signed a new seven-year Public Service Contract (PSC) in Croatia, strengthening its position in the country’s evolving public transport sector and expanding its operations in Lika-Senj County.

The contract, effective from 14 May 2025, was awarded through a competitive tender and covers local and regional bus services across the central Croatian region, where Arriva has maintained a presence for more than four decades.
As part of a broader national initiative to improve and expand public transport through long-term PSCs aligned with EU Regulation 1370/2007, the agreement includes the launch of the new LIKA LINE network. Arriva will operate 23 routes, several of which are newly introduced to improve links between rural and coastal communities.
“This contract win is an important step in our strategy to provide accessible passenger transport in Croatia and strengthen Arriva’s position across Europe,” said Sian Leydon, Arriva’s Managing Director for Mainland Europe. “It reflects the quality of our services, the adaptability of our business, and our commitment to connecting communities through reliable, sustainable public transport.
“With a long-standing presence in Lika-Senj County, we’re proud to have been chosen to deliver these essential services, and we look forward to helping more people access jobs, education and healthcare through better transport links.”
The contract will see Arriva deliver an additional 600,000 kilometres of services annually, supported by a fleet of 21 buses and 32 drivers, including 10 new hires. Arriva’s share of the EUR 27.5 million contract is valued at approximately EUR 15.2 million over the seven-year period.
The Lika-Senj contract is the fourth PSC secured by Arriva in Croatia, supporting the company’s ambition to establish long-term partnerships and revenue stability across its 14 operating counties.
Arriva is one of Europe’s leading public transport operators, providing 1.5 billion passenger journeys each year across 11 countries.
