Alstom signs five-year digital support deal with SL

Alstom has signed a five-year service level agreement (SLA) with Storstockholms Lokaltrafik (SL) to support and advance the digital systems in Stockholm’s metro fleet. The agreement, effective from 1 April 2025, covers the Movia C20 and C30 trains and includes an optional two-year extension.

Under the new SLA, Alstom will provide 24/7 technical support, regular software updates, and cybersecurity services. Key systems included are remote diagnostics, communications, CCTV transmission, and energy monitoring—aimed at improving operational reliability, passenger safety, and energy efficiency.

The agreement builds on an existing rolling stock supply contract and integrates Alstom’s HealthHub platform, enabling real-time train performance monitoring and predictive maintenance to minimise service disruptions.

“This partnership clearly reflects Alstom’s commitment to delivering dependable digital solutions. By entrusting Alstom with the operational support and continued development of these systems, we ensure they evolve in line with operational needs and rising cybersecurity demands. We are proud to contribute to a safer and more resilient public transport system,” says Maria Signal Martebo, Managing Director of Alstom Sweden.

In addition to technical support, Alstom will provide digital training for SL staff and rapid cybersecurity response, reinforcing the resilience of Stockholm’s metro infrastructure.

Alstom is the largest supplier to the Swedish rail market, with more than one thousand trains delivered and several major maintenance contracts in place. Alstom is also leading the rollout of the European Railway Traffic Management System (ERTMS) in Sweden, both onboard and trackside.
