Alstom has announced the opening of its new hub in Naples, located in the center of the Centro Direzionale business district, which offers space for approximately 50 workstations, designed to stimulate collaboration between teams involved in major projects for the modernization of the region’s railway infrastructure.
The initiative is part of Alstom’s strategic plan for growth and consolidation in Italy and the regions where it operates, aiming to improve employee well-being by reducing travel between offices, promoting flexible working, and developing local talent and skills.
The new Hub in Naples will serve as an operational center for ongoing regional mobility projects, including the A168 EAV project, which involves the installation of an advanced signaling system based on ACCM1 and ERTMS solutions on the Vesuvian lines over a length of more than 140 km, as well as upgrades to substations and electric traction and ERTMS AQ2 systems, which include the implementation of signaling and telecommunications systems, along with related upgrades to civil and electrical infrastructure.
“With the opening of the Naples hub, we are strengthening our presence in a key region for Italian rail mobility. We have created a modern and flexible working environment, close to the projects that are transforming mobility in the country, promoting collaboration, innovation, and employee well-being, in line with the Group’s values and our commitment to attracting and developing new talent in the regions where we operate,” said Marco De Rosa, HR Director, Alstom Italy.
At the same time, Alstom is seeking to strengthen local expertise by recruiting professionals throughout the year for key roles such as engineers in the fields of electrical, electronics, telecommunications, cybersecurity, and systems, as well as maintenance technicians and troubleshooting specialists. To support this growth, partnerships continue with ITS Maddaloni and the Universities of Naples “Federico II” and “Parthenope” through internship programs and training courses dedicated to young talent to meet the mobility challenges of the future.
Alstom currently employs over 270 professionals in Campania, distributed across the Nola (NA) site, dedicated to the maintenance of Italo’s rolling stock for NTV, the Naples Campi Flegrei and Naples Gianturco depots, which specialise in the maintenance of regional trains and signalling systems, as well as numerous construction sites involved in the implementation of new signalling technologies and infrastructure works.
