Alstom has announced on 16 May 2025, that Henri Poupart-Lafarge, the Chief Executive Officer of the company, is not seeking a fourth term as CEO of Alstom at the end of his current term, which expires at the general meeting called to approve the financial statements for the financial year ending 31 March 2027.
At the recommendation of the company’s Nominations and Remuneration Committee held on 13 May 2025, the Board of Directors have decided to launch the process of identifying his successor, in order to ensure a smooth transition.
The decision comes after the company has published very good annual results “which demonstrates the excellence of the management of Henri Poupart-Lafarge, which will remain Alstom’s CEO until his successor is appointed,” the company says.
Between April 2024 and March 2025, Alstom booked EUR 19.8 billion of orders, with sales amounting EUR 18.5 billion, representing a growth of 4.9% compared to the FY 2023/2024 and a strong 6.6% on an organic basis. The backlog reached EUR 95 billion, providing strong visibility on future sales.
Rolling Stock sales reached EUR 9.5 billion, representing an increase of 3.6%, Services sales stood at EUR 4.5 billion, up 5.2%, and Signalling delivered consistent execution year-on-year, achieving sales of EUR 2.6 billion, stable on a reported basis and up 6.0% on an organic basis.
During the fiscal year 2024/25, the group achieved significant commercial success across multiple geographies, particularly in Europe and the Americas, and product lines, notably in Services and Signalling. The order intake reached EUR 19.8 billion, marking a 4.7% increase from EUR 18.9 billion in the fiscal year 2023/24. This growth is primarily due to the award of the EUR 3.6 billion S-Bahn Rheinland contract in Germany.
In Europe, Alstom recorded an order intake of EUR 13.1 billion during the fiscal year 2024/25, compared to EUR 11.3 billion in the previous fiscal year. In the Americas, the company reported an order intake of EUR 3.4 billion in the fiscal year 2024/25, compared to EUR 2 billion in the 2023/24 fiscal year. In Asia/Pacific, the order intake reached EUR 1.7 billion in the fiscal year 2024/25, compared to EUR 3.2 billion fiscal year 2023/24.
