Actelis chosen for Northern Ireland rail upgrade

Actelis Networks has secured a new contract to supply its advanced networking technology to support railway digitisation efforts in Northern Ireland.

The order, placed through UK-based partner The Kenton Group, will see Actelis’ hybrid-fibre networking solutions deployed trackside to extend secure, high-performance communications infrastructure along rail lines. The system will enable a range of critical IoT-based applications, including automated signalling, real-time asset monitoring, security surveillance, and intelligent train control.

By leveraging existing infrastructure, the deployment aims to minimise costs and installation time while delivering next-generation digital capabilities.

“We’re pleased to continue expanding our footprint in the rail transportation sector in the UK and Ireland,” said Tuvia Barlev, Chairman and CEO of Actelis. “Our unique hybrid-fibre networking solutions allow rail operators to quickly digitise and secure their infrastructure in challenging environments—enhancing automation, operational intelligence, safety and the passenger experience.”

Modern rail operations require resilient digital infrastructure to manage increasingly complex control systems, predictive maintenance, and advanced security requirements. Actelis’ technology is designed to meet these needs, delivering cyber-hardened connectivity with real-time data capabilities, even in harsh environmental conditions.

The Northern Ireland deployment marks another step in Actelis’ growing presence in the intelligent transportation sector. The company’s networking solutions are already in use across multiple regions in North America, Europe, and Asia, playing a key role in infrastructure modernisation projects where secure, rapid deployment is critical.
