428 suppliers scored for Railsponsible EcoVadis platform

industry-Railsponsible428 suppliers scored for Railsponsible leveraging EcoVadis assessment platform, of which small companies represented 12%, medium-53% and large 35%.
Breaking down companies by size, 75% of small and medium companies are improving their practices, outperforming the overall Ecovadis benchmark (66%).
The performance of top 3 industries covered included manufacture of railway locomotives and rolling stock, manufacture of electronic components and boards and manufacture of general-purpose machinery.
The top countries covered were Germany, France, Netherlands and USA.
Based on the re-assessments, 70% of Railsponsible suppliers have improved their performance compared to their previous scoring and for the overall Ecovadis benchmark the figure stands at 67%.
Railsponsible is an industry initiative focused on sustainable procurement, with the aim to continuously improve sustainability practices throughout the railway industry supply chain. The initiative aims to improve efficiency in the analysis of supply chain CSR practices, and to promote greater transparency to meet increasing stakeholder requirements. It also aims to improve environmental and social practices of companies through best practice sharing and capability building.
Railsponsible was launched in March 2015 by the Chief Procurement Officers of six leading companies: Alstom, Bombardier, Deutsche Bahn, Knorr Bremse, Nederlandse Spoorwegen and SNCF. In May, SKF-a manufacturer and supplier of rolling stock equipment, joined the initiative as seventh member company.
