18 consortiums have been pre-qualified for Oman National Railway project

OmanGlobal players with expertise in railway construction from Europe, China, South Korea, Turkey and India are pre-qualified for the prestigious 2,244-km-long Oman National Railway project.
As many as 18 consortiums have been pre-qualified for civil work and another five for technical systems and these consortiums are eligible to participate in various tender packages for four years, according to the Oman Railway Company.
The tender includes two lists for pre-qualification, infrastructure and IT systems. The qualified companies list will be valid for four years. The construction tender will be for the first part (Al Buraimi-Sohar) and the other parts, which connect Salalah and Duqm ports with the GCC ports, will be limited to the companies that qualified for the tender only.
According to the plan, the 170 km-long Sohar-Buraimi route is the first segment to be implemented
