133 Polish stations to receive new information and monitoring systems

PKP Polish Railway Lines signed a PLN 181 million (EUR 42.7 million) contract for the the design, delivery and installation of dynamic passenger information and a monitoring system at 133 stations and stops on the E 20 Rzepin – Poznań – Konin – Warsaw – Terespol and E 30 Zgorzelec – Wrocław railway lines.

The works will be carried out by a consortium comprising Aldesa Construcciones Polska as the leader, with Aldesa Construcciones and Aeronacal de Construcciones e Instalaciones as partners.

Modern devices will serve passengers, in the Lower Silesia province on the route E 30 Zgorzelec – Wrocław (among others Węgliniec, Bolesławiec, Legnica, Malczyce). The new systems will be also installed on the E 20 line connecting the western and eastern border, in the Lubuskie Voivodeship, on the line from Rzepin towards Poznań, then in Greater Poland on the route to Warsaw, Łódź and Mazowieckie province and on the route from Warsaw to Terespol in the Lublin province.

Through the new dynamic information systems, passengers will benefit from additional timetable, receiving clear and quickly updated information about train departures and arrivals. In addition, the stations will be equipped with monitoring systems that will increase the security level.

“Further investments carried out by PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe under the National Railway Programme increase passenger comfort also in terms of information. We want the passenger to receive fast and reliable information about trains’ schedule,” Ireneusz Merchel, the president of PKP PLK said.

The project is expected to be completed by mid-2022. It is co-financed from the EU Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment.
