Zuidas (Amsterdam) road – rail project contract attributed

01-zuidasA consortium made up of Heijmans, Fluor and Hochtief has won the preliminary contract for a EUR 1 billion project to redevelop the roads and railways in the business district Zuidas of Amsterdam. The project involves widening the A10 ring road and placing it underground, as well as boosting railway capacity at Station Zuid.
The value of the bid was EUR 990 million. The total cost of the project, due to be completed in 2028, is estimated at nearly EUR 2 billion. The other consortium submitting a detailed bid, made up of BAM, TBI and VolkerWessels, has until mid February to submit objections to the decision.
